Hörmann UK upgrades DAS3 inflatable dock seals with energy-saving fan
Loading bay operators can cut dock seal power consumption by around 60% following Hörmann UK’s introduction of a performance-optimised fan as standard across its DAS3 inflatable dock seal range.

THE NEW fan inflates the seal cushions 55% faster and deflates them 19% more quickly, reducing waiting time at the dock and supporting faster loading.
DAS3 dock seals form a tight seal around a trailer or container when it docks, limiting the exchange of air, dust and insects between the building and the outside environment while helping to maintain a stable internal climate.
The fan arrives pre-assembled, which simplifies installation and reduces set-up time and cost. Made from lightweight, corrosion-resistant plastic, it has a 50/60Hz design for use in different regions, while its optimised alignment provides an extra 13cm of space at the door opening.
The system is also compliant with Regulation (EU) 2024/1834, which came into force on 24 July 2026.
Phil Thorpe, industrial division manager at Hörmann UK, said: “Efficient and reliable loading bay operations are critical for modern logistics facilities. Faster inflation and deflation speeds mean less waiting time at the dock, while the improved efficiency contributes to lower running costs and better environmental performance.”
