New electric models added to UN forklifts range
UN Forklifts is introducing a significant update to its electric materials handling range with the launch of the new FE Series electric counterbalance trucks and the new RT reach truck range, following field trials and evaluation work focused specifically on UK operating conditions.

THE LAUNCH strengthens the manufacturer’s position in compact electric handling equipment, with a strong emphasis on manoeuvrability, operator ergonomics and practical warehouse performance.
The new FE Series covers a broad range of applications, and includes 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0-tonne models, alongside compact 48V four-wheel chassis variants in 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0-tonne capacities. Larger four-wheel models are also available up to 3.5 tonnes. Both lead-acid and lithium-ion battery options are offered across the range.

According to the company, development work for the British market included revised lift capacity ratings and specification adjustments based on operational feedback gathered during field trials.
Windsor Materials Handling is the official distributor for UN in the UK.
“The UK market has very specific operational requirements,” said Windsor MD Stephen Burton. “A lot of customers are working in established industrial buildings, tighter loading bays and restricted warehouse layouts, so compact dimensions and manoeuvrability remain incredibly important. The FE Series has been popular for that reason, and this new generation builds on those strengths.”
The updated FE Series introduces a redesigned operator environment with suspended pedals, panoramic mirrors, revised dashboard layouts and optional fingertip hydraulic controls. Additional safety systems include dynamic cornering control, sequential seatbelt functionality and integrated safety lighting packages.
UN says proportional hydraulic control valves also provide smoother load handling and greater precision during stacking operations.

“We’ve focused heavily on operator comfort and controllability,” added Stephen Burton. “Features like tighter turning circles, improved visibility and more intuitive controls make a real difference over a full shift, particularly in busy warehouse operations where drivers are constantly manoeuvring in confined areas.”
Alongside the FE launch, UN is also introducing the new RT reach truck range in 1.6 and 2.0-tonne capacities.
Designed for high-density warehousing applications, the new RT models offer lift heights up to 12.5 metres.
The trucks incorporate a number of operator-assistance and productivity features including adjustable armrests, height pre-select systems, fork-mounted cameras, mini steering wheels and 360-degree electronic steering systems. A mast stabilisation system is also included to improve confidence and load stability at higher lift heights.

Other features include integrated USB charging points, telematics options and the use of European-sourced components within key systems.
“The reach truck market is becoming increasingly demanding in terms of height performance and operating efficiency,” said Stephen Burton. “A well-specified reach truck can deliver very significant savings in warehouse operations, particularly when customers move to lithium-ion power solutions. Faster charging, opportunity charging and reduced maintenance requirements can have a major impact on productivity and overall running costs.”
UN says the trucks also continue the brand’s focus on durability, with heavy-gauge steel chassis construction designed for intensive industrial use.
