THIS IS a key strategic appointment strengthening UKMHA’s commitment to supporting members, raising industry standards, and driving forward the sector’s long‑term development.

Paul joins with a wealth of experience from his time at Stephenson College, where he played an instrumental role in developing training programmes, supporting apprenticeships, and building strong partnerships between industry and education. His background gives him a unique perspective on the skills, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of material handling sector.

In his new role, Paul will focus on expanding UKMHA’s technician training offer, enhancing member support, and helping to ensure that the association continues to champion excellence and upskilling across the sector. His appointment reflects UKMHA’s strategic priority to strengthen the industry’s talent pipeline, promote safe and sustainable working practices, and support businesses navigating an increasingly complex operating environment.

Rob Fisher, UKMHA Chief Executive, welcomed the appointment, noting that Paul’s blend of industry knowledge, educational insight, and practical experience will be invaluable as the association continues to grow its influence and deliver meaningful value to members.

“Paul brings a significant depth of experience, knowledge and expertise that will be invaluable as we move forward. I am confident that his leadership and direct involvement will support the continued growth of our training and apprenticeship programmes, while ensuring we maximise the utilisation of Kibworth.”

Paul expressed his enthusiasm for the role, highlighting his passion for developing people, strengthening industry standards, and helping businesses thrive through improved skills and safer working practices.

The UKMHA looks forward to the positive impact Paul will bring as he works closely with members, partners, and stakeholders across the material handling community and brings to life our training hub in Kibworth, which will open in June 2026.
