Ductile Castings invests in Windsor
A leading castings manufacturer has strengthened its operations with the delivery of a new fleet of forklifts from Windsor Materials Handling.

DUCTILE CASTINGS, based in Scunthorpe, has a long-standing reputation for producing high-quality cast metal components for a range of industries. With an ongoing commitment to operational efficiency and workplace safety, the company recently invested in a fleet of Bobcat diesel forklifts tailored to meet the demands of its challenging environment.
The new fleet includes both 5.5-tonne and 3.5-tonne capacity diesel forklifts, each specifically modified to enhance safety and performance in Ductile Castings’ heavy-duty industrial setting.
The trucks have been equipped with blue safety lights to increase visibility and awareness on site, as well as dust-resistant upgrades to withstand the foundry’s demanding conditions. The high-performance diesel engines in these Bobcat forklifts deliver exceptional torque and fuel efficiency, allowing them to operate efficiently under heavy loads while minimizing downtime and maintenance requirements.
Windsor’s Sales Manager, Samara Goodey, worked closely with the team at Ductile Castings to ensure the forklifts met their exact requirements. “We understand the unique challenges that come with handling heavy materials in a foundry environment,” she said. “By supplying these powerful and reliable Bobcat trucks, complete with safety and durability enhancements, we’re helping Ductile Castings maintain efficiency while prioritising operator well-being.”
Samara also emphasized Windsor’s commitment to service: “Windsor is a very service-focused business. The sales side is only a small element of it. What we are actually selling is the service side and what we can provide for people that not many others in the industry can do.” She also noted that Ductile Castings previously operated a fleet of Doosan forklifts, which have since been rebranded as Bobcat.
“Ductile Castings is a close-knit team with a lot of experience, which shadows what we are about – a dedicated team of engineers based in local branches. Russ is the engineer here, and he has done a fantastic job ensuring the fleet is well maintained and gives Ductile Castings what they need.”
John Ford, Managing Director of Ductile Castings, highlighted the importance of investing in high-quality equipment to support the company’s operations. “At Ductile Castings, we take pride in our skilled and experienced team, who manufacture challenging products for demanding applications across the world. From green energy and traditional power generation to mining, heavy truck, off-highway vehicles, and steel making, we serve industries that rely on precision and reliability. Having the right material handling equipment in place is essential to maintaining our high standards, and Windsor has delivered exactly what we need. Their understanding of our requirements and commitment to service makes them a trusted partner in our operations.”
Ductile Castings also benefits from Windsor’s dedicated local support, with service engineers available to provide ongoing maintenance and rapid response times when needed. “Having Windsor as a partner means we don’t just get great equipment; we get great service too,” John added. “Their team understands our needs and is always ready to help.”
As an independent leader in materials handling solutions, Windsor Materials Handling has been providing expert service and high-quality equipment since 1977. The company’s customer-focused approach ensures businesses like Ductile Castings receive the best materials handling solutions tailored to their unique requirements.
Samara Goodey concluded: “At Windsor, we pride ourselves on building long-term relationships with our customers. It’s not just about supplying forklifts—it’s about providing the right solutions with the right support. We’re delighted to continue supporting Ductile Castings in their growth and operational success.”
