High speed AS/RS
European Conveyor Systems has added high-speed mini-load storage and retrieval machines with exceptional energy-efficiency and positioning accuracy to its range of materials handling equipment.
Developed by ECS’s German partner Gebhardt Fördertechnik, the Cheetah mini-load machines have advanced technical features that reduce their weight and size and also increase speed and accuracy of operation. An intelligent control system automatically adjusts the equipment’s working speed to suit the order situation.
Extensive use of aluminium and carbon-fibre composites for the main structural components such as the mast has reduced total weight by 60 per cent compared with previous models. The lower weight combines with an intelligent energy-management system to reduce energy usage and also allows a drive speed of 6.5 m/sec and lifting speed of 3.5 m/sec.
Despite its light weight, the lattice-type design of the mast provides excellent strength and stability, resulting in very accurate positioning at full speed. Maximum payload is 120kg and maximum lift height is 12 metres. Compact dimensions maximise potential storage space in the warehouse.
